CleanCo Systems, Inc. Receives Contractor Safety Award at ExxonMobil Baytown Complex
Baytown, Texas – CleanCo Systems Industrial Service Company (CCS) recently received recognition for working “Injury Free” for over 15,000 man-hours at the ExxonMobil Baytown Complex. The award marks the ninth consecutive year CCS has worked injury free for the complex and has complied over 130,000 injury free man-hours in the process.
Lynn Spell, General Manager of CCS and company liaison to the ExxonMobil Baytown Complex, was on hand to receive the award on behalf of the entire CleanCo crew. According to Mr. Spell, CleanCo Systems performs high-pressure water blasting for the cleaning of shell and tube heat exchangers as well as fin fan, air cooled heat exchangers for the complex. “We also support the waste water control by providing our liquid-vac vacuum truck services during the cleaning process,” Spell explained.
CleanCo Systems maintains an outstanding safety record through out the company via quality safety training at every level. All supervisors are 30 Hour OSHA General Industry trained and all employees have to go through an initial 40-hour safety program prior to entering the field as a “Hydro-Blast Technician”. Each shift starts off with a safety meeting and a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) prior to beginning work.

ExxonMobil recognizes Clean-Co Systems for outstanding safety practices 7 consecutive years with 10 years with no recordables.
Exxon Mobil Baytown Complex hosted the 2004 Contractor Awards Banquet to honor the contractors and service providers that achieved a perfect safety record for the year. The safety theme for ‘04 was “NOBODY HURT”, and the message was well received. Jonathan Yarbrough, Site Mechanical Manager, announced to the crowd that the entire complex had a 40% reduction in TRIR’s to finish the year at 0.15.
Clean Co Systems has won this award for the past 7 years and has had 10 years with no recordables at ExxonMobil.
CleanCo Systems Industrial Service Company did their part to lower the TRIR by working 13,000 man hours without a recordable. Mick Rooney, President and CEO and Lynn Spell, General Manager, were on hand to receive the prestigious award. CleanCo Systems has been under contract to ExxonMobil since 2000 and has a TRIR of “Zero”.
